What is tableya?
Tableya are Filipino tablets made of 100% pure unfermented roasted cacao beans. They are used for traditional chocolate drink called tsokolaté or sikwate paired with coconut rice cakes and fresh mangoes. It is also used in traditional rice chocolate porridge called champorado.
Preparation: Melt 2 tableya tablets in 1 dl water, milk or oatmilk (highly recommended). Whisk together while boiling until tableya has totally melted, add sweetener and spices if desired (cinammon, cardamom and vanilla).
